The Cefn Gwlad Herdsafe app is now available on the app stores. The app captures information from farmers concerning the management and amelioration of diseases affecting animals on the farm. All users of the app are qualified veterinary surgeons, working for practices enrolled in disease risk management.
The information captured by the app is subject to data protection and privacy under the terms and conditions of the programs into which the farms and vets have enrolled.
Beyond this, the app collects the type of mobile device used (apple/android and model type) as this information is occasionally useful in troubleshooting. The app collects no other information about the user. The development and maintenance of the app is funded by the Welsh government and agricultural industry bodies as part of agricultural programs.
No information is collected by the app about the users. The app does not track or monitor users in anyway, and no information about app users is shared with third parties.
